On 8 December, nearly 30 members of Shelagh Reynolds’ family will celebrate her life by taking part in the Cirencester 5km ParkRun and raising funds for Lawrence Home Nursing Team, whose care enabled her to spend her last weeks at home.
When Shelagh died in April, we drew comfort from the fact that her wish to remain at home had been made possible by Lawrence Home Nursing Team. We hope the funds we raise will enable the team to give others the chance to choose where to spend their final days - it is a precious gift.
The fundraiser has been planned by Shelagh’s four sisters, with the support of Shelagh’s husband Chris, and her mother Margaret. Planning this event has had a big impact on all of us, even motivating those who have never run in their lives to learn how to do so, in celebration of Shelagh, who lived her life with enormous zest, considerable flair and a refreshing appreciation for life’s absurdities.
