We are recruiting a new Chair to lead our Board of Directors.
Location: Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire
Salary: Voluntary
Hours: 4 hours per week excluding quarterly Board meetings
About us
The Lawrence Home Nursing Team provides West and North Oxfordshire residents with free, end of life nursing care, day and night, in their own homes.
When asked, most of us say we want to die at home, in the comfort of familiar surroundings, close to those we love. The Lawrence Home Nursing Team gives people and their families the support they need to make that possible.
The ideal person
We are looking for candidates of significant standing in the local community with a high profile and a commercial and/or charitable background. The candidate may have personal experience of palliative care or have worked within the palliative care or healthcare sector.
You should have Board-level experience, ideally as a Chair, but certainly in significant Executive or Non-Executive Director roles. You will have experience communicating with key stakeholders and managing structural and cultural change. You will have the ability to act as an advocate and ambassador for the Lawrence Home Nursing Team, together with strong networks and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to engage a wide range of stakeholders and support our clinical operation.
The role
You will lead and inspire the team, including the staff, the volunteers and the Board of Directors. You will run the Lawrence Home Nursing Team as a high performing charitable organisation by defining the strategic direction and ensuring compliance with the relevant bodies. You will be an advocate of the Lawrence Home Nursing Team at external events, supporting fundraising by engaging with key stakeholders and building the charity’s reputation regionally.
