About Us – The Charity

Founded in 1999 in memory of the late Dr Martin Lawrence, The Lawrence Home Nursing Team provides excellent holistic care for patients who wish to remain within their home environment during their last days, weeks or months.  Based in Chipping Norton, the service is provided in the local area by a team of dedicated nurses who work in partnership with the patient, their family, their carers, the GPs, the Community Nursing Service and Katharine House Hospice.

About The Role

In order to support the continued work of delivering palliative nursing care to our local community we have identified the need for a registered nurse with palliative care skills to join us and who will play a vital role within the Lawrence Home Nursing Team. Guided by the patients’ needs and wishes, you will be able offer truly holistic and tailored care that’s right for the individual.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate clinical support to palliative care patients and their carers within their own homes.
  • To work autonomously and to uphold the best interests of patients and their families.
  • To report directly to the Registered Nurse Manager or in her absence, one of the identified NursingCoordinators, who will be available for advice and guidance.
  • To communicate and liaise where appropriate with the Specialist Palliative Community Nurses and the Community Nursing Teams to receive and provide accurate and timely reports of any changes in the condition of the patients.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development and to participate in any training relevant to the role.
  • At all times and to all people act as an ambassador of Lawrence Home Nursing Team.
    Uphold ethical and professional standards as per NMC guidelines.

Salary £21.17 p/hour
Hours available: 18- 22.5 hours per week (negotiable)
