We are delighted and proud to have husband and wife local residents Jemma Powell and Jack Savoretti as ambassadors of the Lawrence Home Nursing Team.
Jemma says:
“Jack and I feel very strongly that Lawrence Home Nursing is a completely wonderful charity serving the community and we would be honoured to support the charity in any way possible”

About our new ambassadors

Jemma Powell is a painter and internationally renowned actress. In the late 1990s, she studied drama at the Oxford School of Drama and began a career in acting known for her roles in films such as Alice in Wonderland (2010), The Hole (2001) and Closed Circuit (2013). She has appeared in the Doctor Who spinoff drama An Adventure in Space and Time and BBC One’s Doctors and will appear in TV series, The Stranger (Netflix), Devils (Sky) and The Secret Garden in 2020. Her theatre work includes playing Anya in The Cherry Orchard.

Painting has always been a passion for her, but she decided to start focusing on it only a few years ago, when she started a family.

Jemma’s main source of inspiration is travelling, but her choice of subject matter is just a means to express colours and shapes, and painting while travelling is a way to work plein air in watercolour, charcoal, pencil and oil pastel, and bring them home to develop later in oil on board.

In 2018 she exhibited her first solo show at Anthropologie in Chelsea, London. She continues to work simultaneously as a painter and an actress, believing that both jobs complement each other. Visit her Instagram Page here.

Jack Savoretti is a solo singer and musician. He has released six studio albums to date:

Between the Minds (2007)
Harder Than Easy (2009)
Before the Storm (2012)
Written in Scars (2015)
Sleep No More (2016)
Singing to Strangers (2019)

Singing to Strangers became his first no.1 on the UK Albums Chart.

In December 2019 Jack pulled together a band of famous faces to boost Chipping Norton’s young Anna Drysdale’s chances of funding life-saving cancer treatment. Jack worked tirelessly at the forefront of the “Go Team Anna Campaign” to successfully fundraise the £460,000 needed for Anna’s cancer treatment that is currently only available in New York. Thanks to Jack’s efforts and the help of the local community and an anonymous donor, Anna is now in New York with her family receiving this vital treatment.
