FAQs

What does the Lawrence Home Nursing Team do?
The Lawrence Home Nursing Team provides specialist end of life care in the Chipping Norton area, free of charge, to those who wish to die at home with the reassurance that their final days will be dignified.

What care does the Lawrence Home Nursing Team provide?
Care is provided by our team of experienced nurses who have been chosen for their special aptitude and skills in end of life care. They all take part in on-going training. When a patient is in need of end of life home care, the GP or Community Nurse will get in touch with our team. Our nursing co-ordinator will visit the patient at their home to talk through their care with them, their family and the Community Nurse.

What area does the Lawrence Home Nursing Team cover?
We operate in Chipping Norton and its surrounding villages as shown on the map shown right. In addition, we now cover patients registered with Bloxham and Hook Norton surgeries. If you are unsure whether you are in the Lawrence Home Nursing Team area, please contact us for advice, or ask your GP or Community Nurse who will be able to advise you.

Who works for the Lawrence Home Nursing Team?
Most of our administrative work for the Team is carried out free of charge by volunteers in order to ensure that, wherever possible, all donations are spent directly on patient care – not paperwork. Over 90% of our income is spent on providing and supporting nursing care.

Is the service free?
Yes. There is no charge to any patient or family for the care the Lawrence Home Nursing Team provide.

Where do our funds come from?
We receive most of our funding from gifts, donations from individuals and organisations, and fundraising activities by supporters and well-wishers.
