Great Tew Village Cricket 6s

We would like to thank the organisers of the Cricket Sixes charity fun day and everyone who supported the event.  Without the contribution of everyone who attended, the small businesses and suppliers, the donors and sponsors, the day would not have been the outstanding success that it was, raising over £8,500 which is an amazing amount.

The weather stayed dry with the exception of a light shower in the afternoon, whilst eight six-aside, mixed-ability cricket teams competed throughout the day.  Players and spectators alike were spoilt by a lavish array of cakes, teas, a delicious barbecue, beer, and wine to enjoy the matches, alongside the brilliant commentary and music as play ensued.

The tournament was won by the Kings Six team.  The hog roast was then served and the brilliant band, Different Wavelengths, played the evening out, rounding off what had been a very enjoyable day.

The majority of the money raised will come to the Lawrence Home Nursing Team and the remaining money (around 20%) will continue to support the Pratley family and their battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

Thank you for your support.
